Comma Founder & CEO Named on Utah Business Magazine’s “Forty Under 40” List

At Comma Copywriters, we love to celebrate wins large and small. It’s part of our company culture and reflected in our core values — and it all starts at the top.

Founder and CEO of Comma Copywriters, Crystalee Beck, age 39, was recently recognized as one of Utah Business' Forty Under 40 list for 2025. This honor celebrates rising leaders under the age of 40 who are making significant impacts in their industries in the Beehive State. We may be biased, but Crystalee’s accomplishments and visionary leadership make this award so fitting and well-deserved.

In Good Company

Our leadership team nominated Crystalee and she is in good company with other honorees who have prioritized mentorship, healthy work-life balance, and passion to advance their own success, and support their colleagues, businesses, and the state as a whole.

Since founding Comma, Crystalee has worn many hats at Comma. Every hat, really: writer, editor, accountant, payroll processor, project manager, client success manager, team support manager, sales rep, and more.  She’s handed off hats over the years, growing the team to 27 people in 2025. Comma has been recognized as one of the fastest growing companies in Utah for four years in a row, on the Utah Business’ Fast 50 list.

Reflecting on this milestone, Crystalee expressed her gratitude, saying, "I'm grateful and proud to be on this list with others I admire and respect. Comma Copywriters has been the professional focus of my thirties, as I launched it the month after turning age 30. It feels significant to be recognized at age 39 as I wrap up this decade. Thank you, Utah Business!"

Life-First Work

Crystalee's entrepreneurial spirit, creativity, and vision have been at the center of her professional growth and the success of Comma, as she shared in her personal essay for Utah Business: “How Crystalee Beck Founded Comma Copywriters.”

It’s no coincidence that the women-led brand is defined by its "life-first" culture. Through flexible part-time roles, Crystalee has provided a platform for hungry and talented communication professionals who may otherwise be overlooked or shut out of the workforce.

Comma’s culture is all about creating opportunities for team members to balance work alongside their personal life goals. This forward-thinking approach is exemplified through a $1,000 Bucket List Grant. This program allows team members to pursue their dreams while excelling professionally. For instance, recently, one of our editors took a trip of a lifetime to Thailand and got to interact with elephants. She joins others who’ve made their dreams a reality over the years. For instance, one team member went to Disneyland. Another bought a secondhand dream camper. A third savored gelato in Italy. These moments are the ones that matter in the bigger scheme.

As Crystalee shared with Utah Business: "More than fast growth or revenue goals, I’m most proud of providing a life-first culture for my team."

Her focus on fostering balance and fulfillment demonstrates how businesses can grow and scale while prioritizing the well-being of their people —  and even those across the world. That’s why Crystalee designed the Comma Cares program as a way of giving back. She believes every organization should contribute positively to the world. For each new client we work with, we sponsor education for one girl through our nonprofit partner, Kurandza.

Bold Plans

Crystalee's recognition is as much about her past achievements as it is about her bright future. Her "decades" life plan, which she keeps in her home office, illustrates her intentional approach to life and leadership, as well as the bold aspirations she holds beyond her 40s. This includes bold moves such as writing books, climbing mountains, and hosting retreats for "cool old ladies" in her 70s. Her vision for the future is inspiring and a reminder of her unwavering drive to not only grow personally but also to continue empowering others. In her estimation, it’s a privilege to age, and everyone should relish the opportunity. Not everyone is given the chance.

A proud wife and mother of four, Crystalee's recognition in Utah Business is a distinction that transcends her professional life. The award represents a source of inspiration for her family and community.

Reflecting on what this honor means to her, she recently shared on LinkedIn what she told her 11-year-old daughter:

“Some of the most courageous people I know have never gotten a public award. They've overcome cancer, other significant health challenges, given years of caretaking love to family members, and started over in a new country as war refugees. These are HEROES."

This message captures Crystalee’s spirit of humility and her ability to see the bigger picture. It’s easy to see why she’s such a deserving recipient of the Forty Under 40 honor.

At Comma, we’re proud of Crystalee and grateful for her leadership, outlook, and tenacity. Being included in Utah Business' Forty Under 40 is a prime example of how significant career achievements can lift others up at the same time.

Congratulations again, Crystalee, on this amazing and well-earned recognition! We’re lucky to have you at the helm, and we look forward to seeing what’s next for you. You can read Crystalee’s feature in Utah Business on the official Forty Under 40 webpage.
